Get ready for CSRD compliance!
The year 2024 marks a decisive turning point for many companies in the EU with regards to sustainability as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires them to publish data on the impact of their business activities on the environment and society in a sustainability report for the first time.
Which companies are required to report?
Where does the CSRD come
from?
The introduction of the CSRD resulted from the EU’s European Green Deal and the growing global trend towards more sustainability and responsible business practices. Supply and transport chains are an important lever for sustainable development and are therefore particularly considered in the reporting standards.
The European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) describe which indicators must be reported as part of the CSRD. They enable better comparability of companies, e.g. in the area of measuring and verifiably improving their sustainability performance, reducing environmental impacts, promoting social responsibility or increasing transparency in reporting.
Why do companies have to implement the CSRD?
Compliance with reporting obligations, in particular non-financial reporting, at the centre of which is sustainability reporting, is now a legal obligation imposed by the EU.
However, it can also be a strategic opportunity. Greater transparency within the company creates more trust among customers and investors. Companies that operate more sustainably benefit from a positive reputation, have an advantage on the labour market by attracting a more qualified workforce, can tap into new business opportunities and gain easier access to capital, e.g. for new investments
Our added value is the combination of tool-based calculations on the award-winning Sustainability Management Platform (SMP) and consulting from sustainability and regulatory experts.
